Despite all the bashing campaigns fomented by a particular self-interested industry, veganism continues to grow like never before; read all about it here, from FORBES of all places: https://www.forbes.com/sites/katrinafox/2017/12/27/heres-why-you-should-turn-your-business-vegan-in-2018/#39c57f3a2144
Thus, in comes the “recovering ex-vegan” backlash campaign, and more
Keep in mind that there are contemptible people out there who “go vegan” only to “fail” and then launch a ranting campaign about how impossible it was or how it almost killed them. They are either ignoramuses who ate only jelly beans and potato chips (or other such junk diets)…or FAR more likely…they’re crusading liars connected to (or unknowingly misled and used by) vested interests. What could be more contemptible than such conmen/women?
Then there’s the campaign bent on getting the gullible to eat more meat/eggs/dairy than ever by promoting it as great for weight loss and heart healthy to boot. Meat and animal-fat heavy diets are said to be good for humans; all that we knew before is now supposedly wrong. Animal fat got a bad rap and now it’s good for us and needed.
Mmmm, butter…bacon! Slather some butter on your bacon! Grains and carbs are deadly! No such thing as too much meat; all-meat diets are even touted by a few “sanity challenged” people. Behind all this is a powerful organized campaign to counteract the growing popularity of veganism…nothing more. Don’t ever be fooled.
Despite the vicious backlash, however, more and more people, especially in their teens through 30s, are going vegan for good, and vegan adults are conceiving babies and raising healthy vegan children.
You often hear anti-vegan crusaders rant that vegan diets debilitate or even kill babies and children, based on a few sketchy cases that in no way represent the norm. What’s actually going on in those extremely rare cases of “vegan” children being starved is anorexia by proxy; read all about that here: https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/4451/82746ec2e58532b0629d99cf55c21a3ccc22.pdf
Some parents are so grossed out by “fat” and “gluttony” that enjoying food becomes a sort of sin and extreme thinness is an obsession. They’d rather have their kids be just about any undesirable thing, other than to ever be considered “fat.” And their idea of fat is anything above reedlike thinness. This happens among a small minority of any sort of parents, but only “vegans” get called out for it; it’s said to be “vegan child starvation.” And what a dirty lie that is; but, what else is new?

It’s not so hard, except for all the hate and misinformation out there; but don’t let it all make you crazy. Speaking of which…
Everywhere you look, people eating animals
When all seems hopeless, when you’re surrounded by meat/egg/dairy propaganda and “regular folks” scarfing down burgers and sausages everywhere, day in and day out, and you wonder if there really is any hope after all for the animals and for humanity, just remember one thing: Significant change in society takes a very long time, it grows by increments, very slowly, to become the norm someday in the distant future. That “someday” is when people will look back and wonder how their own species could have been so ignorant and brutal. And that “someday” will never get here if we allow the vicious opposition to crush our spirits and our resolve. So, do not let them.
