Cruel, Destructive Empathy (a.k.a. Sadism)

Empathy is the ability to put oneself in the place of another, to feel what they feel, or at least relate to what they feel, and to have pity for them, as for ourselves, and want to relieve any physical or emotional pain they’re experiencing. The same way we want our own suffering pitied and ended. That’s normal human empathy. Do unto others as you’d have done unto you, as the saying goes. This comes from deserved love for ourselves which extends to love for others, including animals. But with people, that love is reserved only for those others who have not earned our revulsion by their cruel, harmful acts.

Still from American comedy short film Cruel, Cruel World! (1914)

Sadistic Empathy

Sadistic people are also highly empathic, but without the pity, with the exact opposite of pity. They’re highly attuned to the feelings of others and they get a thrill by witnessing their suffering, especially when they themselves cause that suffering, since they feel powerful as well in those cases. The sadistic thrill is born from hatred of innocent others. That hatred is born from self-hatred, which in turn is born from their having been despised and severely beaten, physically and/or emotionally and mentally, especially by those assumed to be close, protective and loving towards them when they were small, innocent children. That of course does terrible emotional damage to a child.

What turns a naturally compassionate, loving human being into a sadistic abuser?

We’re all born innocent, and most are born to loving and protective parents who do their best to make life good for us. But some are products of parents and/or extended family or friends (or enemies or strangers) who damage them severely in a wide variety of possible ways. But all such abuse shares the same roots. Abusers are, almost 100% of the time, former victims of severe abuse, either real or at times imagined. Many of us can mature and transcend this damage to become good, kind, trustworthy people. But this is about all those who do not, in the extreme.

Two primary ways of dealing with such an upbringing are:

1) He/she can identify with the abuser(s) and emulate them in a way meant to rage against but also to justify the abuse and to “empower” the abused as in, “I’m in the power position now, stupid weakling!” This is meant to please their abuser(s) as well, as in imitation being flattery. Stockholm Syndrome is a form of identifying with and dealing with abusers in a sick but self-preserving way, serving to somehow “empower” the victim. In any case, the resulting young bully and/or animal abuser often continues on the same path to commit violent crimes against people as an adult.

2) Or the child can rebel and rise above the abuser and do everything in his/her power to be the opposite, to properly rage against the abuse and the injustice of it, and to truly empower his or her self. To become a strong and morally sound, compassionate human being, refusing to be destroyed by the abuser(s). That’s of course the well-meaning empath who feels terrible for the suffering of others and who strives to relieve suffering in the world. This is also a type of person who is hated intensely for being so “emotional” and they’re often mentally abused by their opposites above.

The sadists’ emulators are those seen posting images or videos of themselves “happily” torturing innocent, helpless animals. They’re the same cowardly people who will do the same to helpless people such as the disabled in care homes, but in the interest of self-preservation usually won’t broadcast those acts due to fear of punishment.

I believe sadists enjoy mentally torturing victim sympathizers even more than they enjoy the suffering of their direct victims. They’re intensely angry that no such people ever came to their defense and rescued them when they were victims of hideous abuse. So, jealousy of those who ARE protected and rescued and loved is the key to their vicious acts against those they see as innocent, like they once were.

The main reason we have animal abuse is because we have child abuse.

Very few people are actually naturally evil from birth where no amount of loving nurturing parenting will allow them to develop into kind, loving people. A child is made evil by abuse, plain and simple. But as with the other example above, most abused children rebel and develop their own sense of empathy and compassion despite the abuse they endured. That takes real strength; mental and emotional strength that the other extreme are severely or entirely lacking. So those toxic “caretakers” or other abusers not only turned them evil, but rendered them extremely weak in character as well.

Solutions?

Wish I had some concrete ones, new and effective. But whenever we witness a child or animal (or anyone else) being seriously abused, we need to act against it or report it to those in authority who will take decisive action to deal with it and get it ended, and get the victim to safety. And that includes what is considered legal and acceptable! Make no mistake, legalized evil is nothing but highly destructive to us all.

This needs to be EVERY month.  (U.S. Air Force graphic by Naoko Shimoji)

So very much abuse is overlooked as with people being intimidated or wanting to mind their own business and such. But this is ALL of our business, as it’s our world and we must live in it and be subject to its dangers. There are so very many, and being victimized by other human beings should not be one of them.

We get to the root of this huge problem only by facing the hard truth about ourselves as a species and putting an end to all of our excuse making and blathering about “necessary evils” as in making “inferior” others suffer for our supposed “benefits.” Such thinking only destroys our humanity and our natural sense of empathy.

Nothing good comes from that.

Meet the Outlaw Hellbeasts (as opposed to those gainfully employed)

Interesting site, showcasing a slaughter-based civilization’s many lowly creations: Go here.

Please don’t take offense at the term “beasts” as meaning “animals.” I’m sure that was not the site creator’s intent. Hellbeasts (as opposed to innocent beasts) are solely of the human variety. Read all about ‘em, so many!

Ted Bundy, prolific torturer/murderer of animals and humans, dead by execution. Source: State Archives of Florida, Florida Memory

Under the “animal abuse” tag, please realize that if those people had some suitable career ambitions, instead of jail terms and/or fines, there’d be satisfying, lucrative places of employment for them among their own kind, in several industries which a good number of arrogant fools calling themselves “humanity” find necessary and acceptable, even to the point of being proud of it and “happy.”

Animal vivisection (“searching for cures”), food production (farms & slaughterhouses), circus animal training, puppy growing (mills), luxury clothing production (fur farms, trapping), etc., etc. …they all need workers, don’t they? Gotta keep all the yahoos on meds, entertained, and looking special.

As much as I love certain individuals, forever…

…and as decent as I always am to most everyone, I do hate “us”—the “wise and kind” species—and any wicked, fake “god” behind this hell on Earth. The source of all real love and goodness is evidently elsewhere, and it is imperative for the decent among us to get back there.

As if animals don’t already have enough to contend with all by themselves in nature and elsewhere. Then there are the 7+billion-and-continually-multiplying active “humans” aggressively stomping all over the world, with most spouting animal-loving platitudes out the other side of their mouths.

They’re also the self-proclaimed apex predators of the planet, while needing manmade, outrageously unfair weapons and extreme human deviousness to bring down the animals, who have only their own minds and bodies for defense. Those artificial and unfair practices people call “natural,” while bitching at vegans for using B12 supplement, and possibly a few others, for being “unnatural” and “needing technology to survive.” Hypocrisy at its worst.

When the vast majority of us stop all this delusional crap…

…and become animal rescuers and diehard vegans, and our animal torture industries are all dying out, only then will we be on our way to what we’ve always claimed to be. Until then, the Hellbeasts will always be among us making life largely a nightmare for countless sweet lives, animal and human alike. And yes, I include people who still eat animals as sweet lives who deserve none of this insane suffering. They apparently still do not know what they do. But as long as they’re not fighting against animal liberation and not condemning veganism, they are more good than evil and thereby decent.

Sorry for the disjointedness; I just needed to rant after reading about a tiny baby’s months-long torture-murder on the Hellbeasts site. Done by her own parents. This was the 2012 case of Mary Webb and her prized man Robert Molinski who tortured babies Piper and Ella for four months. Piper finally died.

Godforsaken hell.

To the Countless (possible) Cannibals Among Us

WARNING – Adult/disturbing material, read with caution.

In a nasty, cruel, murderous world, certain conventional restauranteurs would have it made. Think about it. What better way to dispose of human bodies than to serve the meat to hungry customers, disguised as “pork” or other meats?

Joseph Roy Metheny

Serving people to people is exactly what Joseph Roy Metheny did, with two “crack whores” (as he called them) in the 1990s. Customers at his roadside BBQ stand loved the “special meat,” as he called it. Those two women were among about ten people in all that he viciously murdered, strictly for the fun of it, and the power. To quote him: “I had real roast beef and pork sandwiches and why not they were very good… The human body tastes was very similar to pork. If you mix it together no one can tell the difference.” He was found dead in his Maryland prison cell at 62 this August (2017). Maryland is of course one of the US states.

Joe Metheny

Food establishments and their shady cronies, ah yes, what a convenient body disposal method that would be for them. But no, that can’t be true, can it?

Disturbing Numbers

Worldwide as of 2013, over the previous 20 years, 4,432,880 people had gone missing, never to return. In the US, close to 500,000 children are reported missing each year, with only about 20% of them being found. Most are runaways or taken by relatives or acquaintances; only a small percentage are taken by complete strangers, something like 60 per year (very rough estimate). Some of those 500,000 are repeat runaways, so the actual number of missing children isn’t so high. Still, each year in the US, something like 300,000 (very rough estimate) missing children are never found. Even I have a hard time believing that 500,000 reported yearly, but here’s the source: https://www.missingkids.org/KeyFacts

With always a few people like Joe Metheny and Nathaniel Bar-Jonah (see below) out there, you have to wonder where some of those missing people might have ended up. I’m not trying to be crude or funny here, but I have to wonder how many meat lovers have likely dined on human meat in restaurants and elsewhere? I wonder how many people’s flesh I might have eaten back when I ate burgers, sliced meat sandwiches, cold cuts, and other processed meats like hot dogs, etc.

I’m ever disgusted and guilty over the fact that I very likely ate dog or cat meat once, in 1984 at a group lunch at a Korean restaurant. I was not vegetarian back then and ordered the “healthy soup.” It was revolting, a big bowl of murky orangish fluid with chunks and strands of stuff floating in it, among them an octopus’s tentacle, some mushy vegetables and some long slices of pink-brown mystery meat that looked and tasted strange. I left most of the soup untouched after that. Not long after that I went vegetarian/vegan.

That mystery meat was probably the most persuasive dietary catalyst for me. So, what of the possible human meat being served up out there, for all those great people people we hear boasting about how much they enjoy life and love people? Those who “put people first!” Or, do they also love people – tasty, tasty people? Like some say about animals on their bumper stickers. Real comedians those people are.

Vegans are said to be anti-human and to value animals as much or more so than we do humans. Well, at least we don’t eat people, like meat lovers possibly do. The cannibalism wouldn’t be deliberate of course, but vegans are constantly blamed for unintentional acts of harm simply by our existing, so…have a bit of your own medicine, you, who know who you are. Eating people unintentionally does seem a lot worse than anything vegans might do, doesn’t it?

MEAT-IS-MURDER500

Surely someone would come up with, “Well, those fake meats could have people in them too!” But that’s far less likely. Makers of veggie meats do not deal in carcasses, so, no dead bodies = no meat. But if the occasional murderer did manage to get some human meat into the veggie meat mix on some rare occasion, it wouldn’t really concern me, since I don’t eat much fake meat. Anyway, I have a fair amount of trust in makers of vegan foods to assure their ingredients are what they claim. Meat processors on the other hand, who enjoy killing animals, I don’t trust.

Nathaniel Bar-Jonah

Nathaniel Bar-Jonah mugshot

He was another cannibal, from Massachusetts. In prison, he was witnessed by guards to indulge in one of his favorite childhood treats, sucking at and eating his own scabs. He was seen to be “having sex” while chewing and relishing a scab. He’d snatched countless children away from their lives, took them to isolated areas, tortured and raped them, and murdered some, let others live. Several of his victims were never found. He’s said to have  served meat from some of his victims to guests at his cookouts in the form of burgers, chili, meat pies, casseroles, etc. He too died in his prison cell, of a heart attack in 2008.

Soylent Green

The meat industry’s animal abuse should be enough to make anyone go vegan. But how many people are so hopelessly addicted to meats that the possibility of eating people, even innocent murdered children, wouldn’t phase them?

Anti-vegans enjoy saying things like, Soylent green…it’s people! whenever some vegan mock meat is being promoted. But it seems the sad laugh is on them, doesn’t it? I mean, they’re the ones almost certainly eating people on occasion, and it would be the meat of innocent murder victims to boot.

I say that eating any meat is cannibalism…they’re our fellow Earthlings and as such, their lives are as precious to them as yours is to you, and their dead bodies are as much off-limits to me as human meat is. Although still far from perfect, I take my humanity very seriously after a lifetime struggle to reach this level of of conscience. So corpses of the abused and slaughtered, and stolen body fluids (eggs & milk), are simply not food. There’s so much else that’s great to eat, and that we don’t have to make up crazy excuses for.

Well, in closing, for those of you who find me and other vegans ridiculous, or whatever disparaging term you prefer…
