Outrageous Policy Violations by a Terrible Vegan!

Case in Point

[UPDATE below]

I recently had ALL of my comments deleted from an article as if they’re policy violations or spam, so I’m sharing the article here: https://authoritynutrition.com/vegan-diet-weight-loss/. Below are screen shots from my account page showing all of my removed comments. No need to slog through all that I wrote, but just to see that I wasn’t vulgar or overly angry or insulting or in any way in violation of policies…what I was in violation of was the nice little web of lies people like to live under regarding their cruel, bloody “food choices.”

I don’t often get so involved in comments, but this particular supposedly vegan-friendly article and the way people were commenting really got on my nerves, so I dived in and wallowed in there way longer than I wanted to, so please pardon the tedium, it’s really not necessary to read all my blithering.

In the article, scroll down for the Disqus comment section and you can probably see which people I was replying to, and how they deserve deletion if I do. I believe there was nothing out of line with anything I said, and this shows the sheer cowardice of the anti-vegan mindset and the blatantly unfair behavior they engage in to protect themselves from inconvenient truths. My first comment starts at bottom, latest reply is on top.

UPDATE: I just now (4/23 11:00 a.m.) made another comment on the subject article and it is awaiting approval, which I doubt will happen, so here it is. Further update: Yes, it was marked as spam:

Another problem in this article is that you say, “Up to 45% of people are unable to convert the beta-carotene found in carrots and other orange-colored vegetables to retinol, the active form of vitamin A.” But that’s not quite the case; worst case scenario is that a certain type of people have their ability to convert reduced by 69%. But it’s still easy to get enough vitamin A from carrots and such because you’re getting hundreds of times more A from beta-carotene than you need from certain plant foods. And too much “real” vitamin A from high-retinol foods (animal products) increases fracture risk in women, so it’s actually better to get A from vegetable sources, for everyone. All of that can be read here, from human studies: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2854912/

Judgmental Anti-Judgmentalism in the Plant-Based Cult

People's popular notion of vegans

People’s popular notion of vegans

A prolific cult has attached itself to veganism like a giant sucking leech, condemning ethical veganism and promoting an anorexic/orthorexic, fanatically low-fat diet based on starch, or entirely fruit, raw, whatever. The word “fat” is spit out with utter contempt, so to be a member of this cult you need to get proficient at that, their main identifier.

In this highly tolerant cult, liberal politics are openly preached as if “no conservatives need apply.” Virtuous, extreme thinness and wide thigh gaps abound, exercise mania rules the day, bubbliness beams from gaunt little faces, toothpick arms flail, and aggressive normalcy oozes from loudly babbling mouths. They sometimes live in fancy big houses and brag about how admirable and wonderfully normal their lives, their selves and their perfect families are.

They pity or make fun of anyone lacking their advantages. They especially pity-hate the “overweight” and assume that those people consume shameful quantities of vegetable & animal fats, otherwise they would not be fatties. Yet, being judgmental is a huge taboo in this jet-setter community…so by “judgmental” they mean judging anything differently than they do.

I often see them gossiping, gleefully condemning even slightly chubby people, political opposites and animal-advocate vegans as scourges and destructive morons. That, they claim, is their being appealing and welcoming to not-yet-vegans. Along with, of course, their embracing of meat eating and such as just another life choice, nothing morally wrong with it…nothing at all! (Except that it’s “fattening.”)

If you’re fawning and apologetic enough to the wiry plant-based for your slovenly, less than reedy self, and properly admiring, you too can join their big happy club. Because vegan no longer has a definition, you see, it’s a big, happy, selectively indefinable group of slim party people who only reject fatties, those obsessed with animal suffering, and the politically incorrect (ew, outcasts!). For other than those undesirable groups, vegan now means a carelessly shrugged, “whatever.” 😃

ironyThat pragmatism brings SUCCESS! to these self-proclaimed effective vegans…they get the numbers that way, they say, while preachy, bad vegans FAIL by scaring folks away by insisting that vegan means, well, vegan, as in radical, as in no animal foods, products, etc. …nothing that supports animal use/abuse/killing, to the best of our abilities in the world as it is. But we’re wrong, you see, vegan is strictly a diet, mainly a weight loss diet, and when you’re done losing weight, or whatever, you can go back to animal products if they call out to you…and still be vegan if you wanna be! You don’t have to be  honest and true like them…

I speak as a former lapsed vegan who wanted to continue calling myself vegan when I wasn’t, but would say “mostly vegan” if asked. I was sporadically over the years eating dairy, eggs and occasional fish just because it was “easier” and I was isolated away from other vegans, more able to fool myself into believing the cage-free or humane myths. I was also frightened by clever “vegan health disaster” stories put out by meat industry shills. Realizing that honesty and true definitions really matter (and the animals even more so)…thanks to “preachy” online vegans no less…are what brought me back to stay in early 2009. This is precisely the problem “pragmatic vegans” have with ethical vegans, why they hate us so much. They don’t want vegans to stay with it. They evidently have another agenda?

humane-slaughter

Happy village slaughter, no big corporate demons here.

We animal-advocates have non-vegan loved ones and love them no less, but would love them even more than ever if they got with us. We’re basically decent people, not these venomous monsters we’re depicted as (by actual venomous people). We don’t go around tying people to railroad tracks or whatever “vegan villains” do. We understand “almost vegan” and such; we appreciate when people are trying and transitioning, and less animal consumption is always better. Still, we do want everyone to be with us…but as vegans for the animals, not KFCegans or unconcerned plant-based dieters. (I have a lot of gall assuming that I speak for other vegans, but it’s just going by my experiences.)

Now with this pragmatic anti-vegan vegan cult, being vegan “to the best of our abilities” has been contorted to mean that if eating big macs on occasion is the best you can do, then you’re still vegan if you only eat big macs a couple of times a month, or whatever, that’s just a random example. Now, that sounds like a meat industry agenda to me.

See, to be a proper, effective vegan activist you need to preach about dangers and pitfalls of “giving up a whole, vital category of food!” and how most people cannot do this safely, so they need to be forgiven when they go back to cheeseburgers and bacon & eggs (the real goal). Ideally, grass fed, free range, humanely killed! But ideals aren’t fun all the time, so off to Bill’s Burger Barn you go…you gotta live after all, shucks. Now, this is how you grow veganism!

egg-headWell, that is of course how you water down veganism, attempt to make it meaningless, frightening, cultish, bizarre, dangerous, and full of loopholes, where animal farming & slaughter suddenly are under its welcoming umbrella. That’s in fact how you fight against veganism from within. Like a disease. Then we have their favorite Pied Piper, Temple Grandin, at the helm with all that “humane” slaughter gushiness people so love to get behind. It’s a hell of a lot of cleverness…I’ll give it that.

But wait, there’s a “vaccine” against the disease, this “too hip & healthy to dwell on animal abuse” and/or this “effective pragmatic” plant-based dieting: Love for innocent Wind People Watch Tough Face Outdoor Woman Modellife, self-respect, moral/ethical strength, honesty, and a highly developed deception filter. And there are no debilitating side effects with this self-immunization. To top it all off, it’s free! Rewarding even.

The Anti-Vegan Activist’s Favorite Tool – Gaslighting

crushed_thumbGaslighting is a psychological ploy used by sociopaths, narcissists and other toxic types to bully and control others by convincing them their ideas are senseless, their emotions invalid…in essence that the target is simply unacceptable as is and needs to conform to the dictates of the toxic bully in order to be accepted by the “superior.” Either that, or the target deserves silencing, confinement, elimination, etc., meaning to be securely “under the thumb” of the toxic bully to his/her benefit…or out of the bully’s way, as in locked up or dead.

Gaslighting’s purpose is to turn someone into a psychological puddle of jelly, to the benefit of those directing the game.

fool-140229_960_720We see those “vegans” who’ve submitted to the sociopaths in increasing numbers as of late, in the likes of tone-policing activists far more outraged at “unacceptable” behavior by other vegans (preachiness, being moralistic, whatever) than they are over animal suffering and slaughter. Actually, these “vegans” are most often not in the least bit concerned with people’s treatment of animals and are only “plant based” for health or other such acceptable reasons. They see their tolerant, “loving” selves as the plant-based darlings of society. While ethical vegans see them as the malicious pawns they are. They are the well-used enablers of anti-vegan gaslighters.

In “Gaslight,” the 1944 mystery-thriller film, a woman’s husband slowly manipulates her into believing she’s insane by playing tricks on her and terrorizing her in their home with lights dimming/brightening, mysterious gaslight_1944_trailer3footsteps and so forth. She’s constantly told these are only in her imagination, no one else sees/hears them. He also convinces her she’s a kleptomaniac by having valuables disappear with her as the only suspect. The aim is to have her flip out and be put into an asylum, or perhaps drive her to suicide. This is all for this sociopath’s great financial benefit in the end, he thinks. That’s all I’ll say here, to avoid spoiling the film for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Now, how do anti-vegan activists (AVAs) use gaslighting techniques? Let us count the ways:

Vegan is depressed and angry regarding animal farms, slaughterhouses and all the rest of the deplorable subhuman mess and expresses him/herself about it obsessively, passionately…even, God forbid…judgmentally. (Would anyone accuse a child advocate of being “obsessive” or “judgmental” against child abusers? I think not. Isn’t speciesism just wonderful?) Well anyhow, in response to animal activists/vegans “acting up”…

AVA breaks branches, chest pounds, paws the earth, and hisses at heartbroken person:

  1. You are only depressed and angry because of your deficient diet, not because of anything we’re doing!
  2. You sicko…you anthropomorphize dumb animals, you think they feel pain and have needs like we do. Ha ha, you idiot!
  3. You’re a judgmental, self-righteous, sanctimonious, preachy POS, and everyone hates you!
  4. Your over-the-top love for animals is a sickness! It’s only because you don’t have the people skills it takes to have a proper social life.
  5.  You think a lion wouldn’t eat you because you’re an animal-rights wing nut?

    alex-and-his-lion-friend-by-tambako-the-jaguar-on-flickr

Alex and his lion friend by Tambako the Jaguar on Flickr

  6. Only emotionally immature idiots oppose our using and killing animals!
  7. You favor animals over people, since people cannot survive without using/killing animals. You anti-human scum!
  8. No one else feels as you do, the rest of us are strong and mature and content with the natural order of things.
  9. No one cares about your vegan cult or what you have to say!
  10. You are a bully, crazily trying to force everyone to adopt your awful diet, therefore you’re a horrible person!
  11. If you don’t like our world as we’ve made it, why don’t you just kill yourself? Loser!loser_sign
  12. Nothing is wrong with society and our norms, it’s you fringe nuts that are deplorable, not us!
  13. No one but you few fringe nuts is vegan, and there have never been any vegans of any benefit to humanity or the planet, and there never will be.
  14. All of your protesting, whining and crap is for nothing…no one will ever listen to you. Your life’s “passion” is just so much wasted trash! Go away!
  15. How crazy are you anyways…will you go out to the African plains and tell lions they must be vegan?
  16. We understand nature and the food chain and proudly sit on top of it all, while you’re just a bleeding heart moron…why don’t you just die?
  17. Why can’t you be like these good vegans who accept and love everyone’s food choices and who are thus, cool? Not insane and hated like you!
  18. 99.9% of people are against you…that should tell you just how wrong you are! (This one despite the fact that it’s more like about 50% oppose us now and about 10% are with us as vegans or nearly so, up from less than 1% in the 1980s. But yet, according to the gaslighters, vegans are still less than 1% of people. Our denied growth explains why the backlash of late has become so much more common, loud and vicious.)

There are more varieties to be sure, but those are some of the more common I’ve seen out there on the web, where vicious cranks feel free to anonymously man-70442_960_720hiss and bellow out their toxicity, unfettered. Ah, the joyous pleasantries of being gaslighted by society’s henchmen and women, aren’t they lovely? Just one of the many fringe benefits of being “smug self-righteous privileged SJWs.”

Some anti-vegan thugs behave this way in person, in public, bolstered by their fellows’ behavior on the internet. I say, either put them down scathingly, cleverly and thoroughly, even if with a touch of humor and a pitying hug; or look at them quizzically and cringe/smile at their nutty rudeness; or get away from them and avoid them from there on out; or simply glaze over and ignore, meaning go “autistic” and construct a “wall” against them. The last three are what I’m best at. I’m not so good with mean, clever insult diatribes.

In the case of anti-veganism, gaslighting techniques are well used to bury inconvenient truths, and keep them buried. This serves to hold veganism back from spreading as widely and quickly as it should, since whether the vegan succumbs to it or not, “normal” people see something undesirable happening and want no part of it…not on the vegan’s side anyways. They’d rather covertly/silently side with the bully and simply continue to enjoy their burgers, steaks, cheese and such, while “pitying” (disliking or hating) vegans for being such oddballs and targets of abuse, not to mention the “terrible deprived diet that makes them crazy.” That’s normal folks’ human intelligence and compassion at work right there…impressive, isn’t it?

How do I suggest we deal with gaslighting?

Deal with it (or not) in any way you see fit after understanding what’s happening and operating from inner strength and a firm resolution not to be bullied by nasty people. It’s not for your benefit, after all, to rise above such attacks and “win”…it’s for the innocents, the animals. This is a war of words and ideas, and our winning in the end will get us the huge backing of the mainstream…to phase out and shut down the slaughterhouses and the rest of the vileness. So don’t let these malevolent people get the better of you. To start with, you don’t need to engage with them at all. Clever dismissals serve well to stop them in their tracks and free you from the miserable waste of time in “debating” with them for days on end. But sometimes engaging and winning is quite necessary and needs to be done well. The destructive misinformation AVAs spread should be challenged effectively and defeated whenever possible.

Compassion is Not a Crime – Anita Krajnc, Toronto Pig Save

If AVAs do on occasion “win” by being relentless in the malicious, vulgar behavior, to compensate, do some more creative and constructive work to help the cause of veganism, i.e., be proactive instead of reactive. Get the message out to decent people rather than fight some more with the venomous. Be immune to the psychological games used by these people. Remember: It’s not for your own sake, it’s for the animals and the future growth of veganism, for the eventual end of this animal ag & slaughter-based, thus insane “civilization.”

YOU direct things, don’t allow yourself to be that pawn in the gaslighter’s sick power game. Such people have no right to even attempt to squash your good will and invalidate your passions, and they need to be seen as the malicious ruiners they so want to be. These narcissists and similar types are sick people behaving as domineering mouthpieces for a sick society. So take control of situations, don’t let them make you sick. And be proud, not ashamed of being considered crazy by such a society.

Jiddu Krishnamurti said, “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

And this, along with much else, is deeply, disturbingly, sick and evil human behavior:
